Yahn, from Roswell, Georgia, focuses his research on artificial intelligence. Chosen as a National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates Fellow in the Humans and Autonomy Lab at Duke University, Yahn developed a classification and regression tree for predicting injuries aboard U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and researched safety in self-driving cars. Yahn plans to study artificial intelligence, deep learning, algorithms and cognitive science at University College Dublin.
The George J. Mitchell Scholarship Program, sponsored by the U.S.-Ireland Alliance, funds American students to pursue a year of graduate study in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
