Patt Eagan’s vision is making others’ dreams come true.
At the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by two Virginia wine country viticultural areas where the grapes’ taste reflect the landscape, the University of Virginia Darden School of Business graduate is helping others make wine.
“It’s really been incredible to see the growth,” Eagan said of the company he describes as “winery custom crush meets business incubator meets think tank cooperative.”
“While custom-crush winemaking service is not a new concept in Virginia, we recognized that there wasn’t really a communal facility designed from the start with independent winemakers in mind,” Eagan said.
In 2022, the Old Dominion boasted more than 4,000 acres of grapevines, yielding approximately 10,000 tons of grapes for 274 wine producers. The state’s wine industry was responsible for more than 25,000 jobs and an economic impact of more than $6 billion, according to the National Association of American Wineries.
