While helping first-year students move into residence halls on Friday, President Jim Ryan put a few of the new students on the spot with a handful of questions to test their insider knowledge of the University of Virginia.
The lighthearted touched on old and modern history and, of course, included a curveball or two that highlighted some of 鶹ƽ unique traditions.
“Just to be clear, are you a freshman?” Ryan asked one student.
“I am,” he answered initially. “No! First-year, first-year, first-year! You almost got me there.”
Watch to see if anyone fell for the old “campus” trick – or if any of the students recognized that 鶹ƽ president was running the trivia quiz.
