News in brief: Virginia.edu debuts a makeover

Visitors to this week will notice a few changes.

The virginia.edu homepage and its nearly 40 subpages have been redesigned, with a fresh look, better functionality and updated content. Among the improvements:

  • New video, photography and text showcasing the University’s vibrant community and overall excellence.
  • A new homepage section highlighting research, with links to the University’s research focus areas, pan-University institutes and latest research news.
  • New functionality making content easier to access and ongoing work to ensure the site complies with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines  â€“ standards for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities.

Â鶹Æƽâ°æ schools and offices manage many of the websites and web pages linked to the virginia.edu homepage and its subpages. Â鶹Æƽâ°æ main navigation links have not changed, although the utility navigation bar at the top right of the homepage has a new quick link to the popular UVA internal people search (Netbadge login is required).

University Communications welcomes comments and questions about the redesign. Please write to webmaster@virginia.edu
