A joy of summer is relaxing under a shade tree on the Lawn of Thomas Jefferson’s iconic Academical Village, the historic core of the University of Virginia. Jefferson’s vision for the University was for students and professors to live and learn together, gaining knowledge through the free exchange of ideas. The recent summer heat has made the Lawn’s stately shade trees even more inviting.
