The College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences created a new Rising Scholars fellowship program, with support from the University’s Mellon-funded Race, Place and Equity grant and additional funds.
President Jim Ryan said UVA|NOVA will assist efforts to better serve the commonwealth by bringing new academic programming and research to Northern Virginia.
Professors Micah Mazurek and Beth Ellen Davis will lead the new program designed to improve the health and well-being of affected children, especially in rural and underserved areas.
The 15-credit interdisciplinary minor will be taught by faculty of various backgrounds, areas of research expertise and teaching interests from schools across Grounds.
Robyn Hadley’s dedication to serving young people can be traced to her days as a first-generation college student and her deep love for her alma mater, North Carolina’s Graham High School.
